The Pink Giraffe House offers a safe haven for young victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment who need protection and assistance. |
Our Program
The Pink Giraffe House runs innovative programs that provide homeless youth the assistance, training and resources they need to make a successful re-integration into society.
Mentor Program |
Many homeless youth lack supportive adults in their lives. The Pink Giraffe House’s Mentor Program seeks to foster positive relationships between caring adults and youth in our programs. Mentors offer guidance, a listening ear, and an experienced perspective on life. Mentors also help youth set attainable goals, map out plans to achieve those goals, and begin to successfully implement them. The approach is built around a trauma-informed care treatment model and a commitment to evidence-based practices. The Mentor serves as a role model and sounding board for the youth as he or she moves into independent living and adulthood.

Street Outreach |
TPGH has an outreach and engagement system designed to reduce barriers and encourage homeless kids living on the streets to visit our sanctuary so they can receive appropriate services.
Our outreach team reaches young people mainly in the Montrose district and its surrounding areas, and provide kids living on the streets dry socks and underwear, snacks, beverages, bug spray, toiletries, referral services and emotional support. Living on the streets as a homeless teen can be very dangerous and comes with violence, abuse and neglect as well as abandonment thus creating mistrust and low self-esteem. TPGH insists on the importance to help our homeless youth gain back their self- esteem, confidence and trust in others. As hard as it may seem, we have made tremendous progress with many of our young visitors! |
Drop-in Center |
Days are long when you have no place to call home or a safe place to hang out. Our Drop-In Center is a safe and comfortable place where homeless youth can “drop-in” and get basic need items. This includes food, toiletries, clothing, showers and laundry facilities. We help with homework, GED preparation, and resume writing. A variety of expressive arts and other group activities are offered at the Drop-In Center. We incorporate a TV/ play room for fun and relaxation. We provide family reunification services; telephone messages and mail service. We offer crisis shelter and psychological services. Our daytime drop-in center is a safe place to make meaningful relationships with caring adults. We provide a safe and trusting environment for our teens so they gain the confidence to begin the process of moving out of homelessness and onto the path of self-sufficiency.

Case Management |
Teens who live on the street lack the guidance and support so many of us take for granted. That’s why TPGH has a dedicated and trained team of case managers who provide consistent, personalized, and comprehensive case management services to our youth.
Our end goal is to help our teen clients achieve their individual goals – whether that means finishing their education, receiving work training, finding work, or securing affordable housing. Often, it’s all of the above. |
